There's two main types of Christian Comedians:
1) A Christian Comedian who bases the performance on the Bible, living the Christian life and it is geared toward people that attend church on a regular basis.
2) A Comedian who happens to be a Christian by choice and bases the performance on their life encompassing being a Christian. The comedy not based on the Bible and is not geared toward people that attend church on a regular basis, in fact, they might not get it if they are overly submerged into the subculture of Christianity.

What? “Inreach event”?
Christian Comedian Marty Daniels recently performed a show at what I like to call, an inreach event. It was a celebration for the church. “Outsiders” were not invited. It was a special occasion to honor the “church family”.
Christian Comedian Marty Daniels provided an hour of fun and laughs for this inreach event. Everyone had a great time and there was a huge line at Marty’s merchandise table after the event. Some people were purchasing funny t-shirts and other items while others were simply talking and sharing with Marty Daniels.
An inreach event is as important as an outreach event. There’s valid reasons to have an inreach event such as to encourage the church family, to keep the team strong and to let them know they are appreciated.

Have you ever heard of a church using a Christian Comedian at their FIRST service? I don’t just mean the morning service … I mean their very first ever service - the LAUNCH of their new church.
That’s exactly what a church recently did and they did it successfully. It took a great amount of effort but the community was excited about this untraditional approach. The church hosted an outreach event which really reached into their community and invited them to an event where the preacher didn’t even preach, the choir didn’t even sing … it was simply a great comedy show!
I believe this church took a great leap of faith. I also believe hosting an outreach event such as this really SHOWED their community their mission!
The core and pastor promoted the event locally by telling everyone they could about their unique first service with a Christian Comedian. They also posted and distributed flyers and postcards throughout their community. The event was a success because it really did reach out into their community as they desired.
The audience laughed and couldn’t believe it was truly a comedy show! Many comments were received about how shocked the audience was that there was no “preaching” at that particular service; most seemed to think there would be a few minutes of clean comedy … and then the “traditional” church service. Not this time, this pastor kept the vision of simply providing an outreach event into the community. He wanted folks to come, laugh and hopefully receive some encouragement or a lighter heart, even if just for the day.
Christian Comedian Marty Daniels considered it a privilege to be selected to be part of the launch of this new church and to take part in their outreach event into their community!

A Comedian who is a Christian is also called a Christian Comedian.
Wearing the word CHRISTIAN is an important position. If we choose to wear it, we must do it wisely.
We must do our very best to show others Jesus.
What does that mean?
How can we show others Jesus through our work?
Personally, I believe showing others Jesus means attempting to understand and show love and grace. To me, it means accepting others where they are at without trying to turn them into my clone.
To show others Jesus through our work, as a booking agent, I try to treat others as I want to be treated. It may sound trite, but think about it, it’s really a truth that I strive to live. My goal is to be fair with each and every person that contacts me. My goal is to help them make their event as successful as possible. My goal is to be kind, considerate, professional and create a winning situation for both the client and the Christian Comedian.
I expect the client to say what they mean, mean what they say, do what they say … when they say they are going to do it! That’s a tongue twister!
I expect all of the above from a Christian Comedian.
